Southern Manitoba can expect a pleasant First half of the week. An area of high-pressure looks to sit over northern Manitoba gradually moving east over the next couple of days.
The day on Monday should be beautiful , warm and comfortable with little in the way of humidity as high pressure moves off to the east. Winds will be light out of the southeast. High temperatures on Monday will be in the mid to high twenties , with a high temperature of 25C expected for Brandon , and a high temperature of 26C for Winnipeg .
On Monday night fair skies are expected with overnight lows in the low to mid teens. Areas in extreme southwestern Manitoba will see lows possibly near 10C in rural areas. A low of 11C is expected for Brandon , 14C in Winnipeg .
On Tuesday it will be a similar day, expect a mix of sun and cloud . Winds will shift to the south as a area of low pressure approaches southeastern Saskatchewan and the high pressure system sits over central Ontario. High temperatures are likely to reach the mid to high 20’s through the majority of the southern half. A high of 26C can be expected for Winnipeg with a high of 25C in Brandon.
On Tuesday night there will be a chance for some showers and weak thunderstorms ahead of a system in SE Saskatchewan in the evening in areas of southwestern Manitoba. Any thunderstorms which form will remain below severe limits , and weaken around midnight . Overnight lows will be slightly above seasonal for this time of year in the high teens in some areas and mid teens elsewhere. A low of 14C can be expected for Brandon and in Winnipeg around 18C.
Heading into Wednesday there will be a area of low pressure crossing southern Manitoba , with a mix of sun and clouds . There will also be a chance for showers and a risk for thunderstorms towards the afternoon hours in the Red River Valley. At this time it doesn’t look like the storms will be severe. We will definitely update you if that changes in future model runs . High temperatures look to be in the mid to high 20’s on Wednesday with a high of 28C expected in Winnipeg and a high of 26C expected in Brandon.
Heading into the second half of the week it looks like multiple areas of low pressure will move across southern Manitoba bringing a threat for more heat (mentioned below ) and a threat for severe weather through the end of the week into the weekend. High temperatures will still be in the mid to high 20s some areas possibly surpassing 30°C. The humidity may also increase , I will be monitoring this over the coming days . Have a good start to your week - Mike
