Quick blast of cold temps gives way to warmer spring weather

Southern Manitoba will be exceptionally cooler than normal beginning this week. As a area of high pressure gradually drives south and east into North Dakota, then eventually into Ontario.

Arctic area of high Pressure over the province is going to be keeping our temperatures, A little cooler than average this time of year.

Monday expect below normal temperatures with highs expected between 5 and 10Celcius. For Winnipeg expect a high of 7C. Brandon a high of 6C. We are still under the influence of a area of high pressure. Winds will be out of the north to Northwest.  Overnight expect cooler than normal conditions to come to the province with overnight lows between zero and -8 Celsius. Brandon a low of minus 2 can be expected.

For the day on Tuesday should be a much better day winds will still be light out of the northwest expect high temperatures to be between 5 to 15 Celsius in the afternoon. 10 Celsius for Brandon , and a high of 11C for Winnipeg. Expect a mix of sun and cloud during the day .

Tuesday night expect overnight lows to drop between  +1 to +7.  A low of plus one is expected for Brandon and a low of 2 Celsius is expected for Winnipeg . There will also be increasing clouds on Tuesday night into Wednesday. Rain associated with a area of low pressure  in  southwestern Manitoba will spread north and east through out the night .

Wednesday will be a different  day with some showers possible in the afternoon along with another area of low pressure. Expect between five and 15 mm of rain . High temperatures will be Between five and nine Celsius. With a high of eight Celsius for Winnipeg and a high of six for Brandon. Expect gradual clearing overnight with most of the rain clearing the Southwest by the mid to late evening

As we get into the rest of the week it looks like we are going to Finally be able to experience temperatures in the mid to high double digits as a large southerly flow takes stage . I’m forecasting that some areas may see temperatures within and near the 20° mark.  There also will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms as we near the end of the week.
