Rain and moisture arriving for the second Half of the Week.

Southern regions of the province have been experiencing Rain this afternoon expect that to continue tonight into tomorrow before warmer weather arrives for later this week.

A area of low pressure will be entering southern Manitoba Wednesday with expecting 5 to 10 mm of rain some areas in southern extreme portions may pick up 15 mm. As a result of the increased cloud cover and the rain temperatures will not rise that much.

Highs for the southern regions of the province will be between five and 10 Celsius . If you’re in an area closer to the lake And some forested areas in southern regions of the province temperatures may only be between zero and five celsius.  In general I would lean to temperatures being more above 5° for much of the region. Good news as the winds will be out of the south so there will not be much of a cold wind, the wind will be quite mild. High temperature for Winnipeg 9°, High temperature for Brandon 11°.

For Wednesday night expect rain to end around suppertime in the west and in the east around 9 PM to midnight . Expect reduced amounts of cloud cover, with the possibility of broken clouds into early Thursday. The winds will be out of the west to northwest. Overnight lows will be between 0 to 5 Celsius overnight. For Winnipeg low of 4°, for Brandon low of +1°.

For Thursday a weak area of low pressure will move through the southern portions of the province. Expect highs between 10 and 15 Celsius in the Red  River Valley and 15 to twenty celcius SW MB. Thursday expect a mix of sun and cloud with some broken clouds throughout the day. Also there will be a chance for off and on showers mainly in south eastern portions of the province. Expect showers to clear the province by mid afternoon. Winds will be out of the W to NW for much of the day on Thursday. Expect a high of 16° for Brandon,  and 15° for Winnipeg.

On Thursday night expect clearing, as a cold front dives south into southern Manitoba winds will shift overnight, to the north . Overnight except lows between zero and five Celsius. Expect a low of +3 for Winnipeg and a low of 0° for Brandon.

Friday expect high temperatures to be in the 15 to 20° range celcius for those who are in extreme southern Manitoba. Those areas are along the border up to the highway two or three corridor. Then expect temperatures to be in the 10 to 15 celsius range for those along the trans Canada and for much of southern Manitoba. Winds will be out of the north to Northeast for most of the day. For Brandon on Friday expect a high of 18° and for Winnipeg expect a high of 14°.

Signs are as we head into the weekend a upper level ridge will build into the northern plains allowing for warmer than normal temperatures to filter into the province with high temperatures likely exceeding the 20° Mark, and also allowing for more summer like temperatures to finally appear in the region.
