Rainy , Windy , Cool weather on the way

Headline : Southern Manitoba will be expecting another round of rainy and thundery weather as an area of low pressure moves into southern Manitoba. This will also bring in the start of seasonable to slightly below normal temperatures.

Wednesday : Will be one of those days that starts out cloudy , rain will enter the province in the early afternoon. There will be a likelihood of embedded thunderstorms in some heavier areas of rainfall that occur. The risk of heavy rainfall, strong winds up to 80km/h, and hail up to pennie or toonie size , with any thunderstorms that occur. There will only be CAPE up to 700 or 800 J/Kg. So storms will remain below severe limits. As for temperatures they will not budge much, rain will begin in the Southwest before noon which will mean that there won’t be much of a chance for the sun to get through the layer of clouds, and warm the temperatures. As a result I expect only high temperatures to reach the mid teens, before dropping to just a few degrees above ten celcius in the Southwest. A different story is expected in the Red River Valley and southeastern Manitoba where rain will not start until the afternoon hours, resulting in warmer temperatures. I’m expecting temperatures to budge into the low 20’s around noon before dropping to the mid teens . A high of 15C is expected for Brandon at 11am , dropping to 11C in the afternoon. A high of 21C is expected for Winnipeg dropping to 17C in the late afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Showers and thunderstorms are expected to clear by the mid to late evening , cloudy skies are expected overnight into Thursday . Winds will also be out of the NW, lows will drop into the high single digits (5 to 10C) in the SW and between 10 and 15C in the SE. A low of 9C is expected for Brandon with a low of 12C for Winnipeg.

Thursday : Cloudy skies are expected for the morning with a chance of showers in the southeastern half of Manitoba until shortly after noon . Expect a mix of sun and cloud for the remainder of the day with temperatures rising into the 15 to 20C range. A high of 20C is expected for Winnipeg and a high of  18C for Brandon.

Thursday Night: Will definitely be one of the colder nights, an area of cooler arctic air is expected to move south. The clearer skies will help temperatures drop into the single digits (5 to 10C) , areas by the lakes will experience warmer overnight lows in the low teens (8 to 12C) . I’m expecting a low of 7C for Winnipeg and 8C for Winnipeg .

Friday : Will be one of the warmer days a zonal flow will take over the Canadian prairie provinces, winds will be calm out of the west . High temperatures in the 15 to 20C range are expected for a majority of the southern half of Manitoba. Im forecasting A high of 22C for Brandon and a high of 21C for Winnipeg.

Friday Night: A building ridge of high pressure will start building in Saskatchewan this will allow for northerly winds into the region, there will also be cloudy skies in some sections however more so in the interlake regions. Overnight lows will drop below 10C they will remain in the mid to high single digits . A low of 8C is expected for Winnipeg and a low of 5C for Brandon.

The Weekend: Temperatures will continue to be in the mid to high teens to low 20s there also be a couple areas of low pressure Moving through the region on the weekend which may bring chance of showers to the region. If it gets warm enough there may be enough warmth for thunderstorms. Otherwise generally pleasant’s and seasonal conditions are expected.
