WATCHES, WARNINGS, STATEMENTS... NONE IN EFFECT AT THIS TIME. DISCUSSION... WATER VAPOUR IMAGERY AND UPPER AIR ANALYSES SHOW A WEST TO SOUTHWESTERLY HIGH LEVEL JET STREAMING ACROSS THE NORTHERN STATES AND LAKE SUPERIOR. A VORTICITY MAXIMUM RIDING ALONG THE NORTHERN SIDE OF THE JET IS PRODUCING SOME SHOWERS - AND EARLIER IN THE NIGHT WEAK THUNDERSTORMS - AS IT ENCOUNTERS A MID LEVEL BAROCLINIC ZONE OVER PORTIONS OF SOUTHEASTERN SASKATCHEWAN AND SOUTHERN MANITOBA. THESE SHOWERS WILL SLIDE EASTWARD ACROSS SOUTHERN MANITOBA TODAY. ANOTHER VORTICITY MAXIMUM CURRENTLY SEEN ON WATER VAPOUR IMAGERY COMING ASHORE OVER OREGON IS FORECAST TO SPREAD MORE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS INTO SASKATCHEWAN AND SOUTHERN MANITOBA ON FRIDAY THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT."
