Spring temperatures finally arrive!!

Southern Manitoba was Locked in a persistent cold pattern over the past couple of weeks. Southern Manitoba finally was able to experience the wind shifts at the end of the week. Temperatures look to remain near seasonal for the next few days, as a westerly flow to northwesterly flow remains in place .

Sunday will be the warmest day of the week, with temperatures exceeding the 10 Degree mark in some regions of the province. Warm weather continues into the week .

Saturday For southern Manitoba: There will be a chance for showers in the afternoon and evening behind a area of low pressure that moves into Northwestern Ontario on Saturday . The chance for showers will persist until 8 PM to 10 PM in the evening. There will be off and on cloudy skies in the afternoon depending where showers occur. There will be gradual clearing in the evening towards midnight. Winds will be out of the north so temperatures will not budge much. High temperatures on the day Saturday will be anywhere from 2° to 7 Celsius.

As we switch to the overnight on Saturday winds will shift to the north overnight,  lows will drop into the low minus single digits minus 1 to minus 4.  There will be a slight chance for flurries and showers overnights. There should be some clearing as we head into the morning hours on Sunday.

Sunday should See a mix of sun and cloud with cloudier skies expected throughout the day. As a area of low pressure crosses the central portion of the province. depending on where you are there may be some sunny breaks. Winds will be out of the south west throughout the day which should aid in increasing temperatures to the high single digits to the low double digits (8 to 12C) . Yes that is on the plus side so that is the kind of weather we been looking for for a long time.

Sunday night an area of low pressure will move into the province of Manitoba with a mixture of flurries and showers expected as it crosses the province , it will likely affect the western portion of the province overnight into the morning. Overnight lows on Sunday night will drop to 0°C or a couple degrees past the freezing mark. (-2 to -4C).

The area of low pressure that I talked about will be crossing the province for the rest of the day Monday. It will affect areas just south west of the red river valley, with a slight chance of flurries in the afternoon and evening on Monday.
Monday should be a partly to mostly cloudy. With temperatures anywhere between +2 and +8 Celsius.

For the remaining of the week it looks like a large upper ridge will build into the province of Manitoba and the Eastern and praries.  Will monitor future weather models to see if this verifies if it, does we will likely see temperatures in the double digits in much of southern Manitoba.
