Southern Manitoba is expecting a typical spring this week with seasonal temperatures and a chance for showers or thunderstorms to start the week. Read on to find out more !

Our weather this week will look fairly pleasant, with a couple waves of precipitation expected with Seasonal Temperatures likely. For the evening ahead expect mostly cloudy skies to occur in southern Manitoba , with some partly cloudy skies overnight . And Mostly cloudy skies in . Overnight lows will drop into the mid to high single digits some areas in the interlakes parklands, and Central Manitoba will see lows of 0 to 5C. Winds will be out of the west to NW in southern portions of the province.

Tuesday may be a more interesting day for the province as a area of low pressure moves into Southern regions of the province while a area of arctic high pressure lingers in Northern regions of Manitoba. A area of low pressure moving into Southern Manitoba will contribute to a area of showers and or thunderstorms , depending on the-location localized amounts of 30mm or more may be possible. Most Convective Allowing high resolution Models are showing a area of showers and weak thunderstorms moving into Southern Manitoba by the mid to late afternoon . (Shown in 2 photos above ). There isn’t a lot of CAPE only below 1000J/Kg and weak shear will not really help storms organize that well . High temperatures will be in the 10 to 15C Range for Tuesday with a high temperature of 14C in Winnipeg , for Brandon 16C is expected . Elsewhere highs will be in the mid to high double digits (10 to 17C) .

Winds will shift to the NW on Tuesday night with a cold northwesterly wind behind the cold front ) With lows in the mid single digits, below zero by the Lakes and on the lake shore. Low of 1C on Tuesday Night in Winnipeg and minus 1 in Brandon .

The day on Wednesday should be much better weather wise ,, any leftover clouds on Tuesday night will clear and winds will shift to the South , under brisk 30-50kmh winds. Pleasant conditons are expected with a few clouds to partly cloudy skies , high temperatures will be in the mid to high double digits . High of 17C in Brandon and 15C in Winnipeg .

The rest of the week should be beautiful under the influence of high pressure , with high temperatures in the mid to high teens, approaching twenty degrees in some areas closer to the USA border. There are signs as we get towards the Weekend that another area of low pressure will move in bringing a chance for rain or thunderstorms.

Until then enjoy the beautiful weather .
