Gradual transition into spring like weather begins

Finally some good news for those who are wanting warmer weather, a gradual transition into warmer temperatures will start this week. We may finally be moving out of the below normal temperature pattern that we have experienced over the past few weeks. Read on to find out more!!



Tonight: Southern Manitoba, will be in a warmer period this week, a westerly flow in the pacific jet stream will allow a mild airmass into the region. Also a warm front will be moving through Manitoba through the overnight . Mostly cloudy skies are expected, tonight with the exception of southeastern Manitoba earlier in the night. Temperatures will be in the low minus teens in the southeast this evening, then will rise into the mid to high minus single digits in the morning. Southwest parts of Manitoba, will see temperatures in the high minus single digits then warm into the low minus single digits by morning. Winnipeg: Cloudy,, Temperature -12C rising to -8C in the morning.  Brandon: Cloudy temperature -11C rising to -4C by morning. Dauphin: Cloudy, Temperature -8C rising to -1C by morning. 

Tuesday: A cold front will be sitting over central regions of Manitoba by the afternoon hours , as a result expect mostly cloudy skies. With a chance for some sun in extreme southern sections of Manitoba. Temperatures will soar into the plus side of the low single digits (1 to 5C), low minus single digit values are expected along the trans Canada highway and points north (-1 to -3C). Winnipeg: Sunny in the morning then  Cloudy. High 0C. Brandon: Sunny in the morning then Cloudy high 2C. Dauphin: Cloudy: High -1C. 

Tuesday Night: A cold front will drop south throughout the overnight period, despite this cloudy skies overnight will prevent temperatures from dropping much. Overnight lows will drop into the mid to high single digits in much of southern regions of the province, with lows in the low minus teens in the interlake regions. Winnipeg: Cloudy, low -9C. Rising to  -7C by morning. Brandon: Cloudy, low -3C. Rising to -2C by morning. Dauphin: Cloudy, temperature -5C rising to -4C by morning. 

Wednesday: mostly cloudy skies are expected for the day on Wednesday with the exception being south eastern Manitoba were scattered to partly cloudy skies are expected. Temperatures during the day on Wednesday will be in the low minus single digits and the low single digits with a few locations getting above zero. Winnipeg: Cloudy high 0C. Brandon: Cloudy, high +1C. Dauphin: Cloudy, high 0C. 

Wednesday Night: Overcast conditions are forecast as a persistent southerly flow will be in place as a area of high pressure sits off to the North. Overnight low temperatures will stay mild with temperatures in the low minus single digits and areas of southern Manitoba with the exception of Eastern Manitoba with lows in the low minus teens over night. Winnipeg: Mostly cloudy, low -8C. Temperature rising to -6C by morning. Brandon: Cloudy, low -2C. Dauphin: Cloudy, low -2C. 

Second half of the week: A westerly flow aloft will continue into the second half of the week with a building ridge of high pressure coming in by the weekend, allowing a southerly flow to take over. Because this will allow our temperatures to finally sore into the mid to high plus side from +3 to as high as 12 or 13°C. I will update you on that by the end of the week!
